Police are on the hunt for a 23 year old man who is on the run after allegedly axing his grandmother to death in Lupane, Matabeleland North.
The grandmother’s body was found in her bedroom with multiple deep scars and wounds to her head and neck on July 13.
This was after Sibanda’s daughter started to worry when she was not able to reach her mother on the phone.
The daughter asked her mother’s neighbour to check on Lucky Sibanda who was found lifeless in a sitting position on the sofa with drops of blood stains visible in her bedroom.
The police Spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda said the police are keen to interview Sibanda.s grandson Logic Sibanda after invvestigations revealed that Nyathi had borrowed an axe from a neighbour to use.
The Inspector urged anyone with the information about Nyathi’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station.
