MANGOMBE SPEAKS ON MUSHURE, ELVIS, AND GUYO

Genesis Mangombe hopes to turn things around, starting with beating Hwange at the Colliery this afternoon.

The youthful gaffer is, in no small part, drawing encouragement from positivity on display from his troops.

“I think the script should change now,” he said.

“I am very happy to see my boys putting in so much work in training. The competition for places has been very high during the (past) week and that is a very good sign.

“I am hoping to see the same on Sunday (today) when we take to the field against Hwange. I am very confident going into the match against Hwange.”

Without their inspirational captain Frank Makarati, who has been on the treatment table for over two months, Dynamos have clearly been lacking leadership on the field.

Mangombe will be hoping to see the former Ngezi Platinum Stars man, who is now back, getting into the groove as he starts the game against Rodwell Dhlakama’s boys.Makarati sat on the bench last week, but Mangombe revealed he will be starting today, especially with Donald Dzvinyai suspended for the fixture.

“Frank Makarati’s return in the starting line-up is sure to boost the team. As the captain, he has been out for several weeks and the team has been missing him a lot,” he said.

“His return will obviously get us going. I think our match against Hwange will be especially good for us because we are coming from a defeat, so everyone will be eager to fight.

“I have seen that at training; the guys have been putting a lot of effort and it has been very healthy, to say the least.”

Two key players, Alick Freddy and Frederick Ansah Botchway, are out of the match through injury. DeMbare have been inactive on the transfer market, although they look set to sign former captain Ocean Mushure.

Nicholas Guyo and Elvis Moyo are nursing injuries and their registration is dependent on the team’s medical report expected early next week.

“We failed to acquire some of the players we wanted.

“We are now waiting for the medical team who are assessing Elvis Moyo and Nicholas Guyo to see if the guys could be fit for them to be registered,” said Mangombe.

“If all goes on well, we will be registering them next week (this week). We are also talking to Ocean Mushure. Actually, we are finalising the deal. We hope to have sealed his move by next week.”
