Education Matters Trust, a non-profit organization, celebrated the grand opening of the USAP Community School on its new permanent campus in Marondera last Saturday. The school, which previously operated from leased premises in Goromonzi, has been providing a rigorous Advanced Level education to academically gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds since 2020.

USAP Community School is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders through a holistic education focused on critical thinking, integrity, equality, service, and curiosity. The school has garnered a stellar reputation for academic excellence, with its graduates securing over US$20 million in scholarships to prestigious universities worldwide in just three years.

The new campus, made possible through generous donations from Innscor Africa, Simbisa Brands, Chobani LLD, Beit Trust, Padenga Holdings, Architexture, and Oak Foundation, among others, is a testament to the commitment of the private sector to social responsibility.

Innscor Africa and Simbisa Brands, through their combined contribution of approximately US$2.2 million, have demonstrated their unwavering support for education and community development. Addington Chinake, chairperson of both companies, emphasized the importance of investing in marginalized communities as a cornerstone of sustainable business.

The new campus incorporates sustainable features, reflecting the school's commitment to environmental stewardship and climate action. Students will not only receive a world-class education but will also be equipped with the knowledge and skills to address pressing global challenges.

The opening of the USAP Community School marks a significant milestone in the education landscape of Zimbabwe. By providing opportunities for talented but disadvantaged students, the school is empowering young people to become agents of change and contribute to the country's development.
