Couple accused of stealing from ex

Two individuals, Viola Masama (23) and Passmore Zaguelo (28), have appeared before the Harare Magistrate's Courts on charges of theft. The incident, which stemmed from a confrontation between Masama's ex-boyfriend and her current partner, has sparked significant attention.

The complainant, Masama's ex-boyfriend, visited her residence in Kuwadzana 2 on August 4 at around 5:00 AM. Upon arriving, he discovered that Masama was with Zaguelo. A heated argument ensued, leading to a physical altercation.

During the confrontation, Zaguelo allegedly grabbed the complainant by the neck and stole his phone. The complainant managed to escape the situation but left his car behind.

Later that day, around 3:00 PM, the complainant received a call from the police informing him that his car and phone had been recovered. However, upon inspecting his vehicle, he discovered that US$2,500 in cash, which was kept on the dashboard, was missing.

The complainant subsequently filed a police report, leading to the arrest of Masama and Zaguelo. Both individuals were ordered to deposit US$100 each as bail.
