Sheilla Gondo, 56, from Adylyn Park, Westgate, has been arraigned before the Harare Magistrates' Court on charges of fraud after allegedly defrauding a complainant of US$55,500 in a land sale that went awry.
The State alleges that between October 27, 2023, and the present, at stand number 3832, Mabelreign, Harare, Gondo, in collaboration with Shephered Katuruza (who is already on remand) and two other accomplices still at large, misrepresented to the complainant that she owned the property in question and was selling it.
The land was advertised through Own Your Home Real Estate Agents. Acting on this misrepresentation, the complainant paid US$55,500 to Gondo. However, she failed to transfer ownership of the land as promised.
Gondo has been remanded to October 21, awaiting further court proceedings.
