William Manondo’s quest for a second Golden Boot award in the 2024 season remains firmly on track after he netted another goal in his team's 1-1 draw against Yadah Stars at Rufaro Stadium.

The former Harare City striker has now scored 12 goals this season, giving him a one-goal advantage over Yadah's Khama Billiat and Highlanders' Lynoth Chikuhwa, who are both on 11 goals. Manondo's goal against Yadah was his 12th of the season, and it came from a header off a free kick.

The talented forward, nicknamed "Mr Chibuku," won his first Golden Boot award in 2022 while playing for CAPS United. He narrowly missed out on retaining the title last year, finishing the season with 10 goals, three fewer than Ngezi Platinum Stars' Takunda Benhura.

In other matches around the country, Manica Diamonds' inconsistent form continued with a 0-0 draw against Bikita Minerals. Tel One secured a 1-0 win over Chegutu Pirates at Baobab Stadium, while Chicken Inn defeated Bulawayo Chiefs 2-0 in Bulawayo.
