Simbisa Brands sets AGM date, eyes strategic growth

Simbisa Brands Limited has announced its upcoming Annual General Meeting, taking place on November 22, 2024, where shareholders will gather to review financial performance, elect directors, and shape the company's strategic direction.

The event will be held at 08:15 hours at the Standards Association of Zimbabwe in Borrowdale, Harare.

The meeting will also be convened virtually.

Shareholders will gather to discuss and approve various resolutions, including the adoption of the company's audited financial statements for the twelve-month period ended June 30, 2024.

The agenda includes ratification of Mr. Nabil Mankarious's appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director, re-election of Directors Addington Chinake and Jacqueline Hussein, and approval of Directors' fees.

Additionally, shareholders will consider approval of borrowings for the year ended June 30, 2024, remuneration of Independent Auditors BDO Zimbabwe Chartered Accountants, and reappointment of BDO Zimbabwe Chartered Accountants as Auditors.

A special resolution will also be tabled, authorising the company to purchase up to 10% of its issued ordinary share capital in any one financial year. The purchase price will be determined by the Directors, subject to certain conditions.

The company has  encouraged shareholders to attend the meeting in person or virtually to participate in the decision-making process.
