Police have said that the four dead bodies discovered in Mudzi along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway are likely to be foreigners who died in transit.
“Zimbabwe Republic Police have so far established that the four male adults who were found dead … are suspected foreigners who were being trafficked to another country,” the police said in a statement.
Police say that it is suspected that the deceased suffocated in a container in which they were traveling and were dumped in the bush.
The four bodies were discovered on November 22 in a bushy area at the 174km peg on the Suswe Pass in Mudzi, along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway.

The police seem to have credible leads on the matters as the statement said ZRP has since engaged Interpol to “for the law to take its course”.
Interpol will also come in to assist with identification of the deceased.
The Harare-Nyamapanda highway is a favoured route for Somali migrants who transit through Zimbabwe en-route for South Africa. The undocumented travellers often hitch rides on haulage trucks and other long distance transport.
The deaths come as the International Organization for Migration has issued a report today which states that 50 000 people lost their lives during migratory journeys from 2014 to 2022.
