CCTV footage helped indentify men linked to the theft of phones at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
Barnabus Chikono, 42, of Mazowe, stood before the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing charges of theft.
The State alleges that on November 13, Chikono and an accomplice, who is still at large, went to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals. The duo reportedly targeted the X-ray department lecture room.
Chikono is said to have monitored movement in the passage while his accomplice entered the unlocked lecture room and stole two phones — a Tecno Spark 8 belonging to Norest Mushapaidze and a Vivo Y93 owned by Farai Gwidiba, both of which were charging at the time.
After committing the alleged theft, the pair reportedly fled the scene. However, their actions were captured on CCTV.
Chikono was apprehended by Samuel Matereke, a loss control officer at the hospital, as he attempted to leave the premises and handed over to the police.
