Chicken Inn goalkeeper Donovan Bernard has etched his name in the history books by becoming the first goalkeeper to finish the domestic Premier Soccer League season with an astonishing 20 clean sheets.
This impressive feat has left even the most seasoned goalkeepers in awe, including Bernard's own coach at Chicken Inn, Energy Murambadoro, who was crowned Soccer Star of the Year in 2003. Other notable goalkeepers, such as 2011 Soccer Star of the Year Washington Arubi, Tapuwa Kapini, and Edmore Sibanda, have all fallen short of this remarkable milestone.
Bernard's incredible achievement is a testament to his exceptional skill, dedication, and hard work. His ability to maintain a high level of performance throughout the season has been instrumental in Chicken Inn's success.
The 20 clean sheets achieved by Bernard are a new benchmark for goalkeepers in the Premier Soccer League, and it will be interesting to see if any other goalkeeper can match or surpass this impressive feat in the future.
As the football fraternity congratulates Donovan Bernard on his historic achievement, one thing is clear: he has set a new standard for goalkeeping excellence in Zimbabwe.
