Coach Samkeliso Paradzai Ncube’s Leadership Powers North Star FC to Unbeaten League and Cup Glory

US-based coach Samkeliso Paradzai Ncube has once again steered North Star FC to an outstanding league triumph, securing back-to-back titles with an unblemished record. Under Ncube's leadership, the team has dominated the league with 9 straight wins, scoring 51 goals and conceding just 4. Their impressive form extends to the League Cup as well, where they have won both of their games, netting 15 goals and allowing only 1. Ncube’s tactical acumen, winning mentality, and focus on team unity have been the driving forces behind this remarkable achievement, solidifying his reputation as a top coach.

Reflecting on his team’s success, Coach Ncube emphasized the importance of commitment, teamwork, and mutual trust. "The key to our back-to-back league titles was the unwavering commitment to each other, both on and off the field," he said. "We always had each other's backs, pushed each other to be better, and never took our focus off the ultimate goal, winning as a team."

Under Ncube’s guidance, North Star FC not only developed strong tactical discipline but also built exceptional team chemistry. "Our relentless work ethic, combined with a deep understanding of each other's strengths, allowed the players to adapt to any situation and overcome challenges," Ncube shared. He instilled a winning mentality in his players, stressing the importance of teamwork. "I installed a winning mentality in my players, emphasizing the importance of not just individual talent, but collective effort," he said.

"When everyone works together toward a common goal, it creates an environment where success becomes inevitable."

Maintaining focus after winning a championship can be challenging, but Ncube knows how to keep his players motivated.

"As a coach, I knew that for us to maintain the motivation and focus after winning a championship, we had to set a new target which we both achieved," Ncube explained. "Every day we worked on improvement, fostering a culture of resilience, and openly acknowledging the added pressure while encouraging the team to embrace the challenge."

To keep the momentum going, Ncube made sure there was clear communication, individual player development plans, and recognition of smaller achievements throughout the season. His unwavering belief in his players' abilities, even in the face of adversity, has been a key factor in North Star’s continued success.

"I believe we will win the league every year," Ncube stated confidently. "And yes, I can honestly say I have never gone into a game not believing we can win. Even in the most mismatched games, I found a way to convince myself a game plan, a belief in a certain player, or a one-time, out-of-this-world performance will make the difference."

Despite his strong belief in his team's potential, Ncube maintains a realistic view of the game’s complexities. "I fully understand the realities of putting my players against another coach’s players. Neither one of us controls much of the outcome in the moment. Most of our impact happens during the preparation before the game and in the quality of our rosters," he said.

Ncube also believes that while a coach can influence a game, the majority of success comes from the players themselves. "I believe coaches have an impact on outcomes. I think a winning formula gives a coach about 40% of an influence over a soccer game. The majority, as high as 60%, relates to my players’ talent and athletic abilities. Another small portion is luck, injuries, and other potential variables (weather, environment, travel schedule, etc.)."

As North Star FC continues to build on their success, Ncube took a moment to thank all those who supported the team throughout the season. "I want to give thanks to the players, my technical staff, the owners, and the most important people, our parents, for supporting us through the season," he said.
