Gogo Plaxedes Mahlahla has been sent for psychiatric evaluation while remaining in police custody.
Her bail hearing was set on December 9, 2022 as she undergoes mental examination.
She had approached the Chitungwiza Regional Court on her own for bail application.
The 66-year-old Gogo Mahlahla was arrested after staying with the decomposing body of her 80-year-old husband, who was reportedly last seen in a wheelchair more than five years ago.
She was taken into custody together with her son, Grant Mahlahla whom neighbours claimed they had last seen about 10 years ago.
Grant was also sent for mental evaluation.
According to neighbours, Gogo Mahlahla told them that Grant was in the United Kingdom where his other siblings lived.
Family members have said that no one was allowed in the house by Gogo Mahlahla, including close relatives.
