Zimdancehall sensation Ndunge Yut is set to mark five years in the music industry with a grand celebration on Saturday at Gwanzura Stadium, Highfield.
The event promises to be a thrilling combination of music and sport, with a soccer legends tournament kicking off the festivities at 11 a.m., followed by an electrifying musical show.
Tawanda Pilime, representing the event's principal sponsor, Chitomborwizi, confirmed that preparations for the highly anticipated celebration are nearing completion.
"We have finalized everything—the venue, the acts, and the soccer tournaments. The 5th-year commemoration of Ndunge Yut is a testament to his longevity in the music industry," Pilime said.
The lineup of performers is impressive, featuring prominent names from various genres, including Seh Calaz, Andy Muridzo, Mark Ngwazi, and Peter Moyo. Ndunge Yut himself will also take the stage.
"Almost all the artists advertised on the poster have confirmed their participation. We’re catering to everyone to make this day memorable," Pilime added.
On the soccer front, nostalgia will reign as rivalries among legendary teams are reignited.
"Black Aces Legends versus Black Rhinos Legends is a rivalry fans won’t want to miss. Caps United Ambassadors and Dynamos Old Boys will also clash. Expect fireworks," Pilime said.
Looking ahead, Pilime revealed plans to make the celebration an annual event that celebrates a different artist each year.
"This year, we started with four teams, but next year, we aim for eight. Eventually, we plan to host a pre-tournament and expand the event into a two-day affair, culminating in the main musical show," he explained.
Ndunge Yut, born Givemore Bonde, began his musical journey at a young age, drawing inspiration from diverse genres such as hip-hop, reggae, and dancehall. Over the years, he has established himself as a household name in Zimbabwean music, celebrated for his energetic performances and captivating presence.
This December, fans are in for an unforgettable celebration of music, sport, and Ndunge Yut's remarkable journey.
