Felix Maphosa, 29, of Gaza, appeared before the Chipinge Magistrate's court facing murder charges stemmingfrom a violent domestic disupute.
The court heard that on Decer 31, 2024, Maphosa discovered that his wife, 47, had been taking birth control pills without his knowledge. An argument ensued, escalating into violence.
Maphosa allegedly struck his wife three times on the head with an iron bar before driving a nail into chest using a hammer.
Following the attack Maphosa reportedly left for a beer hall and only returned the following morning to find his wife deceased.
He was remanded in custody until January 17, 2025, and was advised to apply bail at the High Court.
