South African police have captured a wanted Zimbabwean man from his hiding place in the mountains.
In a statement SAPS said Lovemore Musoyi who was armed with an unlicensed firearm was arrested after a tip-off.
"Musoyi’s luck eventually ran out when police, in collaboration with private security, located him at his mountain hideout in the Rakgoadi policing area on Friday, January 3, 2025,” said Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba
Police said Musoyi had been on the run for over a year after he disarmed two police officers and escaped from custody in Motetema.
In addition to escaping from lawful custody, Musoyi is now set to face 10 other charges including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, business robbery, housebreaking, kidnapping, stock theft, assault, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
