A Spring Festival Message from H.E. Zhou Ding, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe

“Spring Festival”, also known as the Chinese New Year, is a time for family reunion, and for sharing love, appreciation, and blessings with one another.

2024 was a year of bumper harvest for China-Zimbabwe relations, with our fraternal ties growing from strength to strength. My Embassy colleagues and I have had the privilege of working with Zimbabwean friends from all walks of life for the development of Zimbabwe, the well-being of the Zimbabwean people as well as the deepening of time-honoured China-Zimbabwe friendship.

2025 marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries, and we have a lot to look forward to. In the Chinese zodiac tradition, the Snake is an auspicious creature symbolising wisdom, calmness, creativity and transformation. As we usher in the Year of the Snake, I join my Zimbabwean brothers and sisters in celebrating the strong partnership and unwavering solidarity between China and Zimbabwe.

On this festive occasion, I wish Zimbabwean brothers and sisters a happy, healthy and fruitful Year of the Snake. May you succeed in all your endeavours for the well-being of your families and the modernisation of Zimbabwe!
