Two men have appeared in court facing charges of kidnapping and assaulting two female police officers.
Obert Sanhanga, 22, and Enock Dhokotera, 22, were arraigned before the Harare Magistrates' Courts, charged with kidnapping and assaulting a peace officer.
According to the State, the incident occurred on February 7, 2025, along Lytton Road in Rugare, Harare.
Sanhanga and Dhokotera, along with three other accomplices who are still at large, allegedly kidnapped the two female officers while they were on duty.
The suspects used a Toyota Hiace to abduct the officers and drove them to Gaza, Gazaland, in Highfields, where they reportedly assaulted them using booted feet and open hands.
The case is still under investigation, and the search for the other suspects continues.
