Dynamos' newest star, Leeroy Mavunga, is eager to make an immediate impact and secure his first silverware with the Glamour Boys. The stage is set for the Castle Challenge Cup final this Saturday at Rufaro Stadium, where DeMbare will face off against Simba Bhora. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 pm, marking the official opening of the domestic Premiership season.
Mavunga, who joined Dynamos during the off-season, expressed his excitement for the upcoming match. "This is my first opportunity to play in a cup final in the top-flight league," he said. "I see this as a chance to write a new chapter in my career and contribute to the team's success."
The Castle Challenge Cup serves as a crucial test for both teams, with Simba Bhora entering the match with high expectations after an impressive pre-season, including a two-week training camp in Polokwane, South Africa. Mavunga acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents, stating, "Simba Bhora are among the favorites for the league, and they will be determined to prove their strength by winning against us on Saturday."
However, Mavunga emphasized the pride and responsibility that comes with representing Dynamos. "We carry the weight of the Dynamos badge," he said. "Regardless of the circumstances, we are obligated to give our all for the team, the fans, and the spirit of the game."
Mavunga also highlighted the team's preparations for the match, stating, "We have been working tirelessly to prepare ourselves for this challenge. We are ready to bring the fight to Simba Bhora and do everything in our power to secure a victory."
With a blend of experienced players and familiar faces from his time at Yadah, Mavunga believes that the team has the chemistry and understanding needed to succeed. "I have played with several of my teammates since our days in Highfield," he said. "We understand each other well, and this will be an advantage for us."
