A man who allegedly raped a university mate thrice after coming from a night club has been arraigned before the courts.
Tedious Chigwenya, 28, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing rape allegations.
He will appear in court on March 13, 2025.
The State alleges that on October 26, 2024, the complainant was with the accused person at a night club in Harare CBD.
The complainant told the accused that she wanted to go home, and the accused person offered to buy food for her before they left.
The court was informed that the accused brought the food and drove the car while the complainant was asleep.
The complainant later woke up when they were in Hatfield. It is alleged that Chigwenya took the complainant to a house which he said belonged to his relative.
It is alleged that the accused person asked the complainant if she wanted to have intercourse with him, but he was turned down.
He then insisted on having intercourse with the complainant, and the complainant ordered him to put on protection.
It is alleged that the accused went on to have sexual intercourse with the complainant without her consent and protection three times.
After the act, the accused person did not say anything to the complainant, and she did not disclose the matter to anyone.
On November 13, 2024, the complainant decided to file a report at ZRP Hatfield.
