Hillary Dzuda, a 20-year-old man from Mutare, has been charged with unlawful possession of gold after police discovered the precious metal during a search at his workplace in connection with a fraud investigation.
According to the State, detectives from the CID CCD in Harare were probing a fraud case involving Dzuda on February 26. They escorted him to his workplace at 333 Pengalonga, Mutare, to search for stolen money. During the search, police found 22.88 grams of suspected gold hidden in his safe.
Dzuda was unable to provide a valid license allowing him to possess the gold, leading to his arrest.
