SADC ministers hold meeting on regional political and security issues

Foreign Affairs minister Frederick Shava is leading the Zimbabwean delegation to the Southern African Development Community Extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Committee to discuss the political and security issues in the region as well as the progress report of the SADC Mission to Mozambique.

The meeting is set to take place in Windhoek, Namibia today, November 30, 2022.

The Minister is accompanied by Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Honourable Kazembe Kazembe and senior government officials.

SADC’s mission to Mozambique is a regional response to support the country to combat terrorism and acts of violent extremism.

SADC is concerned about continued acts of terrorism perpetrated on innocent civilians including children, in some districts of the Cabo Delgado Province.

The meeting will also discuss other political and security issues concerning the region.
