Beijing Bevone Electric, a leading Chinese electrical components manufacturer, has expressed interest in expanding its footprint in Zimbabwe beyond supplying quality electric components. The company is considering setting up a local factory in collaboration with Zimbabwean partners.

Mr. Wang Zhiwei, Strategic Marketing Director of BOV talks to foreign journalists

Speaking during a foreign journalist media tour of Tongzhou District, Beijing, Mr. Wang Zhiwei, Strategic Marketing Director of BOV, highlighted the company’s commitment to increasing its global presence and encouraging local participation in the growing Chinese technology sector.

“We are definitely looking at doing more work in Zimbabwe. Beyond just supplying quality electric components, we are exploring other growth areas, including establishing a factory. We would, of course, work with local partners to ensure the best fit for the country’s needs,” said Wang.

BOV has already worked on two projects in Zimbabwe, including supplying components to the Sabi Star Lithium Mine in partnership with Suining Shengxin.

The company specializes in the research and development of medium-voltage embedded poles and vacuum interrupters, and has a global reach, including countries like Russia, India, Japan, and North Korea.

Potential Zimbabwean partners for BOV’s expansion could include players in construction, industry, mining firms, railways, healthcare, aviation, and any other field requiring advanced electrical solutions.

The move aligns with BOV’s strategy of leveraging local expertise to meet regional market needs while fostering industrial growth.

Established in 2003, BOV has over 1,000 employees and operates as a national high-tech enterprise in China, with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. Its products are widely used across energy, power grids, industrial applications, buildings, and infrastructure projects.

If realized, BOV’s Zimbabwe expansion could contribute to local industrialization, job creation, and technology transfer in the electrical sector.

Speaking at the same occasion, ZKSK Technology's Regional Sales Manager, Ms Pan Zichen, said that the specialized medical devices supplier is also looking at opportunities to do more business with local health service providers.

ZKSK is a leading player in orthopedic, blood purification, and endoscopic devices, as well as medical personal protection systems, and already services the Zimbabwe market.
