Agora Club Zimbabwe has strengthened its support for vocational training by providing young women with essential skills to secure employment and financial independence.
Through its partnership with the Rafiki Girls’ Centre, ACZ has contributed to the training of young women in cosmetology, interior design, cutting and designing, hairdressing, nurse aide training, and early childhood development teaching.
The centre, established in 2002, was chosen in 2023 as the philanthropic focus of ACZ under the leadership of Chido Musasiwa-Gutu.
Speaking on the initiative, Rafiki Girls’ Centre representative Hildah Mahachi said, “Our mission is to equip young women with practical skills that will help them build a sustainable future. Many of them have faced significant challenges, but through training, they now have an opportunity to earn a living and support themselves.”
Over the past two years, ACZ has provided transport assistance, furniture, and solar system installation at the centre. Other partners, including Proweb and Laptops For Hope, have also contributed resources to enhance the training environment.
ACZ has organized an appreciation event on April 4, 2025, at 9 Drayton Road, Mabelreign. The event will bring together stakeholders and partners who have supported the initiative and provide networking opportunities for further collaboration.
“We have seen incredible growth in the trainees. This program is changing lives,” Mahachi added. “With continued support, we can reach more young women and open doors to even greater opportunities.”
