A road traffic accident on Thursday, April 17, 2025, left six people dead following a head-on collision along the Harare-Chirundu Road.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident occurred near the 214 km peg at approximately 11:30 AM.
According to a preliminary ZRP statement, a haulage truck carrying no passengers collided head-on with a Nissan NV 150 vehicle transporting five individuals. The impact of the crash resulted in fatal injuries to all occupants of the Nissan NV 150 as well as the truck driver.
The bodies of the six victims were transported to Karoi Hospital Mortuary. Authorities are yet to release the identities of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
