Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee chairperson, Caston Matewu, has urged the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) to engage legislators over its 2.5% administration fee ahead of next month’s consideration of the Finance Bill, opening the possibility of legislative changes to the charge.
Matewu acknowledged that ZINARA had undergone significant reforms in financial management, describing it as one of the most transformed government entities in that area.
Commenting on the administration fee, he said the road funding agency had expanded considerably since its establishment and should make submissions to Parliament seeking a review of the legal provisions governing the charge.
