A 46-year-old Glen View man has been arraigned before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly attacked a three-year-old girl with an iron bar.
Anybody Maringa is accused of launching the brutal assault on May 10, 2025, leaving the toddler critically injured and fighting for her life in the intensive care unit at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.
Prosecutors allege that Maringa, armed with a metal bar, went to a house at number 666-15th Crescent, Glen View 1, in search of his girlfriend. When he failed to find her, he allegedly turned his rage on the unsuspecting child.
The court heard that Maringa struck the toddler twice on the head and twice on the abdomen.
He is expected to return to court on May 16, 2025, for a bail application.
