Chillspot Recordz producer, Tafadzwa Kadzimwe, popularly known as DJ Levels, was arrested on allegations of raping his former girlfriend, Ashleigh Shashl Moyo and is detained at Borrowdale Police Station in Harare.
This comes as there were reports yesterday that the Murehwa-born artiste has skipped the border into South neighbouring Africa.
DJ Levels is expected to appear in court soon as soon as investigations are complete.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said he was yet to get details of the artiste’s arrest.
It is alleged that at an unknown date in July 2021, DJ Levels and Shashl were not yet in a relationship, but were working together in music at Chillspot Studios in Mbare, Harare, which is owned by the suspect.
On that date, DJ Levels reportedly asked Shashl to pass through his place of residence taking his car since they were using her car.
While at DJ Levels’ residence, the two got inside the house.
According to Shashl’s report, while inside the house, they started kissing and later, DJ Levels allegedly pushed her into his bedroom.
Shashl reportedly stopped kissing and told DJ Levels that she had to go home before the Covid-19 curfew time.
When Shashl was about to leave the bedroom, DJ Levels allegedly grabbed her trousers before raping her without protection.
Shashl reportedly ran from the scene and went home.
The matter came to light when DJ Levels allegedly sent some nude videos and pictures of him and Shashl.
Police sources claim DJ Levels circulated the nude videos and pictures after they broke up.
