Police in Chinhoyi have arrested three armed robbers in connection with robbery cases which occurred at Nyamugomba Business Centre and Bantu Mine and Nyamugomba Farm.
Isaac Masekwa, 25, McDavid Masocha, 28, and Serina Mashopa, 31, attacked a shop attendant with a machete before stealing a cellphone and four 750-millilitre Two Keys liquor.
“They went on to attack a mine owner and stole gold ore which they loaded in their get-away Ford Ranger vehicle,” police said.
The arrest led to the recovery of two machetes and stolen gold ore.
Police in Harare have also arrested Prince Kamuriwo, 28, in Unit H, Chitungwiza for illegal possession of three rounds of ammunition of a Mossberg rifle.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a case of infanticide in which the body of a newly-born baby boy was on Tuesday found in a state of decomposition at a dump site along Stanstead Road, Mabelreign.
