GreenFuel Football Club has announced significant changes to its technical team following a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Triangle United.
In a statement, the club revealed that seasoned coach Rodwell Dhlakama has been appointed as the new Head Coach with immediate effect. “Rodwell Dhlakama has been appointed as Head Coach of GreenFuel Football Club with immediate effect. His contract will run until the end of the 2025 PSL Football Season,” reads the statement
The shake-up also sees former Head Coach Tawurayi Mangwiro reassigned to a new role. “Tawurayi Mangwiro, who was previously serving as Head Coach, has been elevated to the role of Technical Director, also effective immediately, until the conclusion of the 2025 PSL Football Season,” the club stated.
GreenFuel emphasized that all other members of the technical team would remain in their current roles and continue serving the club with professionalism and dedication.
The restructuring comes just after the team’s disappointing 5-1 loss, which sparked outrage among fans and raised questions about the club's competitiveness in the league.
“We warmly welcome him back and wish him great success in his renewed leadership role,” the club said in reference to Dhlakama, who brings a wealth of experience and is expected to stabilize the team during a turbulent campaign.
