A 29-year-old man who allegedly robbed a motorist involved in a car accident is set to appear in court on July 7, 2025.
Tadious Thomas appeared at the Harare Magistrate's Court facing robbery charges.
The complainant in the case is Ronald Chinomona.
Prosecutors allege that on April 6, at around 1:00 AM, Thomas connived with one Milton Dzaguma — who is already in custody over the same case — and approached Chinomona, who had just been involved in a road accident at the corner of 8th Street and Samora Machel Avenue in Harare.
The two accused allegedly assaulted Chinomona several times on the face using open hands before stealing his wallet, which contained US$80, a Samsung A14 smartphone, and various personal documents.
Later that same day, detectives recovered the stolen phone from Thomas and took it to the police station as suspected stolen property.
On June 25, detectives received information linking Thomas to the robbery at 8th Street and Samora Machel Avenue. He was subsequently arrested.
