Diesel consumers are getting a small breather as prices have come down while petrol users will have to fork out a little bit more after a marginal increase according to news prices announced by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority effective December 8, 2022.
Diesel-50 now costs ZWL$1 095 55 or US$1.66 per litre down from ZWL$1 113 03 or US$1.70. This means there is a US 4 cents reduction.
Blend-E15 now costs ZWL$1 023 77 OR us$1.55, up from ZWL$1 008 57 or US$1.54, a US 1 cent upwards variation.
The last price adjustment before this one came less than two weeks ago on November 30.
In a statement, ZERA said operators should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.
“The public and operators are advised that the blending ration is now at E15. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages.
Stakeholders are advised that the pretroleum price releases by ZERA can be verified on the official ZERA website, Facebook and Twitter handle,” reads the statement.
ZERA announced in May this year that they are in the process of engaging fuel producers to ensure a sustained blending ratio of 20%.
