Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged for May 2026

 

 

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has maintained fuel prices for May 20, 2026, with diesel and blend rates remaining unchanged across both United States dollar and local currency payment bands.

In its latest notice, the regulator said stability in pricing reflects ongoing government interventions aimed at cushioning consumers from global geopolitical pressures affecting energy markets.

Under the revised structure, Diesel (50) is set at US$3.88 per litre, while Blend (E20) is priced at US$3.74 per litre. In local currency, Diesel (50) remains at ZW$2.09, with Blend (E20) fixed at ZW$2.08.

ZERA stated that the prices take effect from 20 May 2026 and apply nationwide. The authority also reminded fuel retailers and operators to adhere strictly to the prescribed pricing framework, noting that while stations may offer lower prices based on competitive advantages, selling above the set ceilings is prohibited.

The regulator further encouraged stakeholders and members of the public to verify fuel price updates through its official communication channels, underscoring the importance of compliance and transparency in the fuel sector.
