The Zimbabwe Football Association  confirmed the six-match suspension of the  PSL referee Quesdani  Dirwai following what the governing body described as a substandard officiating performance during the recent league match between FC Platinum and Dynamos.

The suspension, which spans matchdays 18 to 23 of the ongoing PSL season, comes in the wake of a contentious fixture held at Mandava Stadium on 22 June 2025. ZIFA announced the decision in an official statement, citing that Dirwai’s performance “fell short of the expected professional standards required at the Premier League level.”

A review of the match, which included feedback from the Match Commissioner, reportedly highlighted several inconsistencies and questionable decisions that significantly impacted the game. ZIFA acted in line with Paragraph 21 of its Referees Code of Conduct, imposing the suspension as “a corrective and disciplinary measure.”

“Mr. Dirwai’s handling of the FC Platinum vs Dynamos game raised serious concerns over his judgment and consistency on the field,” the statement read.

“We expect all our referees to uphold the principles of fairness, professionalism, and accountability.”

ZIFA emphasized that the suspension was not only punitive but aimed at reinforcing standards among officials. “This action underscores our commitment to ensuring that all matches in the domestic league are officiated with the highest levels of integrity and consistency,” the association said.
