Creative spaces are a challenge for many upcoming artistes in Zimbabwe and in an endeavour to give them platforms to showcase their talents, Mount Zion Records and Mhetu TV have organised a family talent show at Werras Park in Glen View, Harare, on December 18.
“The talent show is aimed at exposing talents that are in abundance in the townships. This is our first show and we hope many artistes who have been lacking exposure will be recognised by promoters through it,” Temptation Chirenje (a.k.a Tman), one of the organisers, said.
He said all genres are welcome and participants need to register by paying US$5.
Chirenje said the Master of Ceremonies will be Abisha Palmer and established artistes to perform on the show include Shinsoman, Xtra Large, Ndunge Yut, Andy Muridzo, Guspy Warrior, Sniper Storm, and Ninja Lipsy.
Among the panel of judges will be Prophet T Freddy, Stunner, Pah Chihera, Gamue the Killer and Tman of Mt Zion.
Motivational tokens, he added, will be given to best performers and they include US$150, six songs free recording deal and a collaboration with big artiste for the first prize. The second and third prizes have been pegged at US$100 and US$50 respectively including recording deals.
Mount Zion Records is a local recording company which is mainly involved with Zimdancehall artistes. One of their most popular productions which was performed by various artists was the Zion Tals Riddim.
