Transparency International Zimbabwe is hosting a regional multi-stakeholder dialogue in Bulawayo on maternal health procurement, with support from DAI and FCDO.
The dialogue aims to address corruption risks in the procurement and supply of maternal healthcare goods, medicines, vaccines, protective clothing, and equipment.
TIZ recognizes that corruption in maternal healthcare procurement remains one of the biggest threats to quality healthcare in Zimbabwe.

“Maternal health must be protected from corruption if we are to reduce preventable deaths and improve equity in healthcare,” TIZ emphasizes.
The meeting brings together key stakeholders, including Provincial Medical Directors, Hospital Superintendents, councillors, parliamentarians, private sector suppliers, civil society, and frontline health workers.
The objectives of the dialogue are to reflect on corruption risks in maternal health procurement and develop a Provincial Action Plan to strengthen accountability and safeguard maternal health delivery.
TIZ aims to drive systemic reforms, strengthen oversight, and ensure that solutions from the ground feed into broader national advocacy.
By creating space for collaboration and action, TIZ hopes to protect maternal healthcare from corruption and improve overall healthcare delivery.
