A beer-drinking session at Chipato Syndicate Mine Compound in Chegutu ended in horror when a miner known only as T-One allegedly disembowelled one man and fatally stabbed two others during a drunken brawl late on October 14, 2025.
Police say the suspect was sharing beers with Innocent Mudonhi, 21, Honest Shumbamhini, 20, and Conrad Shumbamhini, 25, when an argument erupted over an undisclosed issue.
According to a police report T-One allegedly drew a knife and drove it deep into Mudonhi’s stomach, disembowelling him.
He then turned on Honest Shumbamhini, stabbing him in the abdomen and right hand as the young man tried to block the blows.

Finally, the assailant plunged the knife into Conrad Shumbamhini’s stomach — leaving the blade lodged in his body — before fleeing into the night.
The victims’ cries alerted the community and they were taken to Chegutu District Hospital. Mudonhi died on admission while the Shumbamhinis succumbed to their injuries on October 15.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi asked members of the public to assist in arresting the fugitive T-One.
“Anyone with information that may lead to the suspect’s arrest should report to the nearest police station,” Nyathi urged.
