ZIFA ends contract with Michael Nees

 

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has officially announced the termination of its contract with Technical Director Michael Nees, effective immediately.

In  their statement, the association confirmed that the decision was made by its Executive Committee following a review of its ongoing restructuring agenda.

“ZIFA wishes to inform all stakeholders and members of the public that the Executive Committee has resolved to terminate the contract of Mr. Michael Nees with immediate effect,” read the official statement from the association.

ZIFA expressed gratitude to Nees for his service and contributions to the development of Zimbabwean football. “The Association takes this opportunity to sincerely thank Mr. Nees for his efforts and contributions to Zimbabwean football during his tenure. His dedication to the game and his service to the national structures are appreciated,” ZIFA added.

The German-born technical expert joined ZIFA to oversee the country’s football technical development, working closely with national teams and grassroots programs. His departure marks another shift in the association’s ongoing reforms aimed at revitalizing the sport.

ZIFA reaffirmed its commitment to improving technical standards and implementing development programs aligned with its restructuring goals. “ZIFA remains firmly committed to strengthening its technical development programs and ensuring continued progress in all areas of the game in line with its reform and restructuring agenda,” the statement reads

The association said details regarding the transition process and interim technical arrangements will be communicated in due course.
