Moonlight Strengthens Community Ties With Sports Tournament

Moonlight Funeral Services has once again demonstrated its commitment to community health and client engagement by hosting its second annual sports tournament in the Tongaat area, Triangle and Hippo Valley, on November 1 and 2. The event, which featured more than 50 soccer and netball clubs over two days, brought together sport enthusiasts, families, and employees for a weekend of competition and wellness promotion.

Moonlight representative said the primary objective of the sporting weekend was rooted in the organisation’s belief in fostering a healthy and active society.

“The primary objective of the tournament is rooted in our belief in a healthy population and keeping everyone fit. By sponsoring this sporting weekend, we aim to promote health and well-being within the community and amongst our client Tongaat’s workforce,” the representative said.

The initiative forms part of Moonlight’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and its longstanding relationship with Tongaat, which dates back to the 1990s.

“Yes, this is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. This is a way for Moonlight to give back to our client, Tongaat, the community in which we operate as a gesture of appreciation and support. We have a long-standing relationship which dates to the 90s. A two-decade relationship is worth celebrating,” the representative added.

Moonlight chose Tongaat as the host location to continue strengthening ties with the community and its client base.

“We chose to hold the tournament in the Tongaat area specifically because Moonlight values its clients. We always take time to re-engage with our clients in various ways, and for Tongaat it was a sporting weekend. This allows us to directly interact with our clients in a more relaxed environment,” the representative explained.

This year’s tournament follows the successful inaugural edition held last May, solidifying Moonlight’s pledge to make the event an annual fixture.

“This is intended to be an annual tournament. This is the second edition, following the inaugural tournament held last year in May, confirming our commitment to making this a recurring event,” the representative noted.
