PCB Moves Tri-Nation T20I Tournament to Rawalpindi Over Security Concerns

The Chevrons will now play all their fixtures in Rawalpindi after the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed a revised schedule for the upcoming T20I Tri-Nation Tournament.

The competition, featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, will now be staged exclusively in Rawalpindi from November 18 to 29, with Lahore removed from the list of host cities.

According to the PCB, the decision was taken “for operational reasons” following discussions with both Sri Lanka Cricket and Zimbabwe Cricket.

“The decision to revise the schedule was made in consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket and Zimbabwe Cricket, following mutual discussions to accommodate operational and match requirements,” the PCB said in an official statement.

The move follows heightened security concerns in the region after a deadly suicide bombing in Islamabad on November 11.

While no direct threat was issued to the participating teams, the PCB, in coordination with local authorities and the respective boards, opted to consolidate the tournament in Rawalpindi to ensure streamlined logistics and enhanced security arrangements.

The Tri-Nation Tournament, which was originally set to feature matches in both Rawalpindi and Lahore, will now see all fixtures — including the final — played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
