
Six miners are feared dead after the mine they were working in flooded in Kadoma on Wednesday.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident on Thursday, 20 November, saying it occurred at Golden Reef Mine in Etina, Eiffel Flats.
The miners were reportedly working in an underground shaft about 40 metres deep when it suddenly filled with water. Police said retrieval efforts are currently underway.
This tragedy comes just two weeks after seven artisanal miners died in Silobela, Midlands Province, when a mine shaft they were working in flooded during heavy rains.
The miners were trapped at Auriga 47 Mine, Base Mineral Block, Nzwananzwi Village, on 5 November 2025, and their bodies were recovered two days later.
