
ZimNow reporter Witness Runodada was celebrated at the fourth edition of the Mash Central Achievers Awards, held on 6 December 2025 in Bindura, where more than 40 outstanding individuals were recognised for their contributions to the community.
The awards, now in their fourth year, have grown in stature and impact across Mashonaland Central Province. This year’s edition enjoyed strong provincial leadership support, highlighting the government’s recognition of the awards’ role in promoting excellence and community development.
Speaking about the initiative, Mash Central Achievers Awards Chairman Ezekiel Manjengenja reflected on the journey since the awards’ inception, acknowledging the challenges faced in the early days.
"Although the first edition was daunting due to uncertainty over public acceptance, the team remained committed, driven by passion and the desire to succeed. This determination has helped elevate the awards to new heights,” he said.

In 2019, Manjengenja partnered with Vice Chairman Saidi Umtali, a community arts enthusiast, to further strengthen the initiative, establishing the Mash Central Achievers Awards as the first awards platform of its kind in the province.
Over the past three years, the awards have honoured more than 100 achievers from various sectors, with the 2025 edition benefiting from strong corporate support from sponsors including Econet, Nyaradzo, Doves, and TelOne.
Runodada was among the standout winners, receiving a Special Recognition Award for his contribution to community service and the promotion of arts and culture. “I feel grateful for being honoured in my hometown of Bindura. This recognition is a meaningful acknowledgment of my work and dedication to promoting local culture and community development,” he said.
Vice Chairman Umtali emphasized that the initiative’s objective remains to celebrate local excellence and inspire communities to support one another’s success. “We will continue to push the project so that we celebrate each other and uplift our province,” he said.
The Mash Central Achievers Awards continues to grow as a platform for recognising talent, resilience, and excellence across Mashonaland Central, with organisers promising even greater impact in future editions.
