Murderer rapes corpses of his wife and daughter victims

The brother of the man from Ngavaseke Mugomba Village, Nyanga, who hanged himself after killing his wife and three children says the murderer raped his wife and daughter’s corpses.

“It is clear that he raped his wife and daughter. It was just evil. They were laying with their heads smashed and naked from the waist down," said Nicholas Chirombe.

The corpse of his wife, Joyce Mashenu, and that of his 14-year-old daughter had been stripped of their underwear when they were found.

Nicholas believes that Edward kept the bodies of his family for a day after the atrocities.

“I visited him on Wednesday and he denied me entry into his house. He came to meet me in the fields and he was his usual self.

“The way he (smashed) their heads will always remain engraved in our minds,” he said.

A blooded hammer which is believed to have been used to pulverise the victims was also found inside the room.

The victims were found by the police on January 6 after the Police received information that there were dead bodies lying in the hut and flat-roomed bedroom which were reportedly locked from the outside with padlocks.

The body of Mashenu was found lying on the bed covered with blood in the bedroom while the bodies of the children were found lying on the floor with multiple deep cuts on the head.
