A man from Hwange district has died after being run over by a train near Matetsi siding on Sunday evening, the National Railways of Zimbabwe has confirmed.
The victim sustained severe injuries in the incident, including the loss of both legs, and later succumbed to his injuries.
In a separate incident on the same day, an unidentified man was seriously injured after being run over by a train in Kwekwe.

Confirming the incidents, NRZ said: “A man from Hwange district has died from injuries sustained after being run over by a train. The incident happened near Matetsi siding on Sunday evening.”
The rail operator expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and renewed its safety appeal to the public.
“The NRZ urges people to avoid walking or sitting on railway tracks,” the organisation said, warning that failure to observe railway safety regulations continues to result in preventable loss of life.
