One of Zimbabwe’s prominent musical promoters Josphat Hozheri has declined the plea by one of Gideon Sanyangore’s friend to forgive the latter and Blessing Kumunda.
Sanyangore and Kumunda are the two bouncers who were arrested and are on remand for terrorising patrons in posh entertainment joints in Harare. They have since been denied bail due to the serious nature of their crimes.
Hozheri said Sanyangore and Kumunda deserve to be incarcerated and should face the wrath of the law for their reckless behaviour.
“We forgive him but we will meet in court, they have to face the consequences of their actions.
“Sanyangore was carrying a knife with him which means he was ready to kill. He was endangering the lives of others.
“They took money from me during Selma Mtukudzi’s show when I tried to reason with them,” Hozheri said.
He also said the bouncers terrorised other people and he stands with the people who were abused by them.
His sentiments came after one of the duo’s friends appealed to Hozheri and other promoters that include Partson Chimbodza on social media, for assistance to help them as they are facing hard times in remand.
“On behalf of Sanyangore and Kumunda, we apologise. They are human and they make mistakes.
“Gideon is not doing well in remand such that he is unable to walk and is being carried even to the toilet. Their families are also not doing well and they need financial assistance.
“To all the promoters who were wronged, we ask that you forgive them and if possible for you to visit them so they can apologise personally for their wrong doing,” the bouncer said.
The two bouncers are facing attempted murder charges after one of the bouncers threatened an unknown person with a knife. Another video has also gone viral in which one of the two slaps a patron before pouring a drink on him.
Several people have also laid complaints against the duo after another video of them splashing beer on an unknown patron went viral on social media.
