The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced a slight increase in diesel and petrol prices effective January 18.

The blending ratio remains at E5.

In a statement, the regulator said Blend E5 would now be sold at US$1.54 per litre compared to the previous US$1.53. In the local currency, it was raised to ZWL$1 124.61 from ZWL1 080.01.

ZERA raised the US dollar price for diesel to US$1.62 per litre from US$1.63 while the diesel price in the local currency was hiked to ZWL$1 188.77 from ZWL1 147.01.

“The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio remains at E5. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.

“Stakeholders are advised that the petroleum price releases by ZERA can be verified on the official ZERA website, Facebook or Twitter handle,” reads the statement.
