Two Arrested Over Armed Robbery Spree in Beatrice

 

Police have arrested two suspects linked to a series of armed robberies that took place in Beatrice between March 5 and 6, 2026.

The suspects, Conrad Moyo (22) and Milford Sidhakwa (24), were apprehended following a police operation after officers received a report of an armed robbery at a bar on the night of March 5 at around 10pm.

During the incident, a security guard and a bar attendant were reportedly attacked before the suspects fled with two cellphones, cash and alcoholic beverages.

Police launched a motorised patrol along the Harare–Masvingo Road, leading to the arrest of the two suspects.

Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrests and said several items believed to have been stolen or used during the robberies were recovered.

The recovered items include 20 smartphones, US$780 and ZiG110 in cash, two torches, a bolt cutter, a machete, a necklace, an electric shocker and a satchel.

Investigations have linked the suspects to at least seven robbery incidents in the area. One of the cases involved a robbery at a motel in Beatrice on March 6 at around 1:20am, where US$371, alcoholic beverages and two cellphones were stolen.

Another incident occurred shortly afterwards at around 1:45am at a plot in Rocklands, Beatrice, where four cellphones and US$609 in cash were taken.

Police said investigations are continuing as officers pursue a third suspect believed to be involved in the robberies.
