Securico Founder and Managing Director Divine Simbi Ndlukula has been recognised on the 2023 list of Forbes Magazine’s 50 over 50 most successful women in Africa.

The list acknowledges founders, business and political leaders, scientists and vanguards leading the way throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Ndhlukula is described as a tour de force in an industry where women, especially in high positions, are few and far between.

She once sold an 8-tonne truck which she had earned by selling and reselling her clothes to save her family farm.

Ndhlukula moved into the security industry in the 1990s, starting her own project in 1998 with four other people.

Securico currently employs about 4 000 people, of which 900 are women. She  featured alongside some renowned companies and individuals such as actress Helen Mirren, former treasurer of the World Bank Arunma Oteh and billionaire Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken, among others.

She was recently elected as the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) National President and sits on the National Competitiveness Commission, and other non-profit organisations that support women and children.

The Securico chief holds two Masters Degrees in Business Administration from Midlands State University and a PhD degree from the Women’s University.
