Deaf Zimbabwe Trust, in partnership with USAID Zimbabwe, recently facilitated a two-day integrated entrepreneurship training workshop for young people with disabilities in Chimanimani which was aimed at advancing youth skills in the informal sector.
The workshop which was under the “Empower” activity had the objective of strengthening entrepreneurial skills of youth with disabilities in the district.
Deaf Zimbabwe Trust said: “Empower allows for a powerful shift from a charity-based model to a human rights model which favours empowerment and supporting rights for Persons with disabilities to participate in economic and developmental activities.”
Chimanimani is currently recovering from the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai which left a trail of death and destruction of property in the area.
