A 33-year-old man with no fixed abode has been sentenced to an effective 10 months in prison after stabbing a woman in an unprovoked attack in Pfupajena.
The offender appeared before the Chegutu Magistrates' Court, where he was convicted of assault following the violent incident that occurred on March 13, 2026, at around 3pm.

The court heard that the victim was walking to church when the accused suddenly confronted and attacked her without any provocation.
During the assault, the man stabbed the woman on the shoulder and thigh, leaving her injured.
Members of the public quickly intervened, restraining the attacker and rescuing the victim before the situation worsened.
The court sentenced the offender to 13 months’ imprisonment, with three months suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour. He will serve an effective 10 months behind bars.
