Two Harare men have appeared in court facing allegations of stealing US$12,900 after allegedly receiving payment for a diesel supply that was never delivered to a mine in Lions Den, Chinhoyi.
Rossy White (56) of Newlands and Richard Wade (68) of Glendale appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court charged with theft of trust property.
The complainant is Huaming Mine, represented by Tatenda Chingaira Mukozho.
The court heard that in March 2026, the complainant, who operates in the fuel and transport business, sought to purchase diesel for delivery to Huaming Mine located in Mune Village, Lions Den. He was introduced to the accused by fuel dealers Charles Nyanguwo and Elias Garikayi Mhizha, who allegedly claimed that White and Wade had access to diesel through a South African partner company, Micawber Private Limited.

According to the State, the complainant met White on March 14, 2026, at Newlands Shopping Centre, where he paid a cash deposit of US$12,900 for the purchase of 40,000 litres of diesel.
The fuel was expected to be delivered from the NOIC Masasa Depot to Huaming Mine by March 15, 2026.
However, the court heard that the diesel was never delivered. Instead, the accused allegedly began offering explanations, claiming that their South African partner, identified as Nereshini Naidoo, had received the funds to facilitate delivery but was experiencing delays.
Despite repeated follow-ups, the complainant failed to receive either the diesel or a refund.
The matter was subsequently reported to ZRP Highlands, leading to the arrest of the two accused at their respective residences.
As a result of the alleged offence, the complainant suffered a loss of US$12,900.
